Watch Valentino's artistic takeover of Sydney's Pitt Street Mall
The Maison commissioned Chloe Leong for a new, artistic expression of its L'cole collection.

IF YOU WERE shopping in the Sydney CBD last Friday, chances are you might have come across quite the mid-afternoon treat amidst browsing and buying.
Valentino hosted a mesmerising collaborative performance with Australian artist, choreographer and dancer, Chloe Leong-part of a local artistic collective which aims to make dance more accessible to the masses in an installation inspired by the set of the Maison's spring/summer 2024 L'cole fashion show, presented last October.
Titled Skin Deep, the live presentation featured five dancers who, across a series of performances at Sydney's Pitt St Mall, echoed the unique sentiments of Valentino's L'cole collection which honours the female body. Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli who just recently announced his departure from the Maison after 20 years sartorially celebrated femininity, humanity and sensuality; with Leong's choreography symbolic of his inspiration. The movements explored the feminine landscape, from societal norms to emancipation as well as the very clothing women choose to adorn their bodies with.

For the series of commissions, performed on March 22 and 23 and attended by members of the Valentino community, dancers wore key pieces from the Valentino L'cole collection. The opportunity to showcase the motions and mobility of each new silhouette not only furthers the dialogue on the power clothes have on female agency, but to do so in an urban environment offered lucky onlookers a unique opportunity to engage with Valentino.
