Celebrity Big Brother star announces family member died while he was in house
Bradley Riches has revealed his grandad died while he was in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The 22-year-old actor announced the sad news on social media after his eviction from the ITV show in the penultimate episode.
Sharing a picture of his grandad, Bradley wrote: 'I just heard the sad news of my Grandad passing while in the BB house. He was strong, kind and funny. I love you so much x.'
Bradley's time on the show was cut short in a shock backdoor eviction just two days before the final. He came sixth with TV star David Potts taking home first prize after the public vote.
Aj Odudu and Will Best announced Dancing with the Stars' Nikita Kuzmin was taking second place, with Coronation Street starColsonSmith coming third, Louis Walsh in fourth place, and TV presenter Fern Britton in fifth.
Bradley shot to fame when he portrayed James McEwan in the Netflix teen series Heartstopper and proved a popular contestant in the reality series.
Speaking toMetro.co.uk in 2022about landing his part on Heartstopper, Bradley explained that it was his mum who encouraged him to audition as he was reluctant at first and didn't want to miss out on his studies.
Bradley found out he was autistic at the age of nine and described how he hoped by sharing his experiences he could help others feel less alone.
'Acting is an escapism for me. I feel free and understood when playing characters when, most of the time, I felt misunderstood as Bradley,' he said.
'I am so happy that I can show autistic people that they aren't alone and that they aren't invisible they are beautiful and magical.'
In other Celebrity Big Brother news, former X Factor judge Louis has spilled the beans on his true feelings about his housemates.
Louis said Fern Britton is 'ok' despite believing she 'desperately wanted to win,' and went on to describe her as 'wallpaper' because 'she doesn't give you anything'.
He toldThe Sunthat his series was 'too woke' and described it as 'boring' since people were tip-toeing around one another.
Halfway through his stint in the house, Louis revealed he was diagnosed with blood cancer during the pandemic.
Reflecting on this in the interview, Louis added that 'this whole experience', being Celebrity Big Brother, is 'going to change' him.
'I am going to try and be nicer. I am a bit catty. I always let people know what I think of them, that's just me,' he said.
Big Brother re-launched with spectacular results last year garnering its biggest viewing figures in a decade with 2.5millionpeople tuning in, beating the likes of Love Island.
Just months later Celebrity Big Brother launched and according to ITV it saw an average of 1.7 million viewers tuning in to keep up with the series.
