Hallmark Channel's Tyler Hynes and Andrew Walker's BFF Moments
Tyler Hynes and Andrew Walker have been friends for two decades-and Hallmark Channel fans have taken notice.
We talk weekly, Walker exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2023 of Hynes, who is his wife Cassandra Troy's cousin. I've known the guy for 19 years since he started coming to her house for Christmases when I first met my wife. We have a deep appreciation for each other.
In November 2021, the two actors finally made cameos in each other's Hallmark holiday films and one year later, Hynes and Walker costarred in their first joint Hallmark movie, Three Wise Men and a Baby.
It was the best-case scenario to work with Tyler [who] is my wife's cousin, Walker exclusively told Us in February 2023 of the 2022 film. And then [costar] Paul [Campbell], you know, wrote this insane script with Kimberley [Sustad] and they were already they doing incredible things.

The actors popped up in each other's 2021 holiday movies as minor characters. Hynes played a waiter in My Family Christmas Tree where Walker played the lead, Kris. The fellow Canada native then returned the favor, appearing as a restaurant patron in Hynes' An Unexpected Christmas.Shutterstock (2)

"It was an easy chemistry. We just felt like also we're three completely different guys. We don't step on each other's toes," Walker exclusively told Us of working with both Hynes and Campbell. Walker revealed via Instagram that Hynes "surprised" him and Troy at his mother's memorial. "For those who know him, know @tyler_hynes is one of the sweetest humans around. But for him to fly into his folks place, then drive another couple [hours] just to be there for me really goes to show how lucky I am to call him family," Walker gushed.Andrew Walker
Walker gave a not-so-subtle shout-out to Hynes in his 2023 holiday movie, Christmas Island. During the film, Walker chewed on a candy cane while decorating his family's house and spreading Christmas cheer as a nod to Hynes' candy cane quirk from 2022's Three Wise Men and a Baby."I'm like, 'No, no, guys, this guy's, like, Mr. Christmas, let's load him up with things. Throw a wreath around his neck or throw ribbon,'" Walker exclusively told Us in November 2023 as to how the scene came about. "So once I had it all around my neck, I was like, 'I'm missing something. I still feel like I need something.'"It was in that moment that Walker realized he could channel his inner Hynes to make his Christmas Island character even more spirited. "I looked at the Christmas tree and there's some candy canes on the Christmas tree, and it just hit me in the moment. I was like, 'I'm going to give a little nod to Tyler and I'm going to chew this thing like Tyler did in Three Wise Men," he said, noting he knew viewers would "love anything with Tyler and I just ragging on each other or cameos with him."Hallmark/Youtube
"I mean, rivals is a great pitch. I think that's a great idea," Hynes exclusively told Us when asked about a possible next project with Walker. "I hadn't thought of being rivals, but that would be a blast."Hynes noted that the pair would "have to really pull the gloves off" to make it believable.
