"Hey @Walmart, eliminate self-checkout," X consumer TampaJoe (@Tampa_Joe_813) began his tweet.

"Uninterested in being harassed and discriminated towards. Had staff surround me like I used to be gonna take off with a cart filled with groceries just because I went to the checkout closest to the door and my chip not working until I swiped. Ridiculous."

Walmart has acquired a mess of complaints from clients about self-checkout.

One shopper claimed that they walked out of the store after employees told her to move to a cashier because of how many gadgets she was buying.

"I've literally walked out halfway through a cart filled with shit at our Neighborhood Walmart bc they need to cease me, examine the eight luggage filled with stuff I already scanned and then try to tell me to go wait within the one line they've open bc I have an excessive amount of for the self-checkout," she stated in her tweet.

One other buyer stated they walked out when they saw that there were only self-checkout lanes open.

"I walked out of a Walmart yesterday once I noticed that there were no cashiers on obligation," he wrote within the& post.

"I just put the gadgets I had meant to buy on a nearby shelf and left, as I refuse to make use of the self-checkout lanes (where there have been long line-ups!)."

The consumer made a press release that many different clients have been saying, "Walmart needs to return to hiring cashiers."

In one other instance, a client gave the store an ultimatum if they didn't hire more staff.

"I'm not going to do all of the work to examine myself out and then stand there whereas they verify my receipt. It's insulting."

In December 2022, Walmart CEO, Doug McMillon, explained that theft was "greater than what it has traditionally been" and referred to as it a big "situation."

He feared that clients could also be negatively affected as prices might rise and places might close.

Anti-theft measures similar to products locked behind glass and receipt checking have been carried out to scale back theft.
