STEPHEN A. Smith has made his long-awaited return to the First Take studio after a prolonged absence.
The 56-year-old sportscaster has been dialing in remotely from Los Angeles for the previous few weeks.
Stephen A. Smith has returned to the First Take studio after an extended absence[/caption]Smith introduced his arrival back in New York with a boisterous cold open during Monday's edition of the sports debate present.
Stephen A. yelled with an enormous grin, "Did you miss me?!"
He was joined within the Huge Apple by host Molly Qerim and Dan Orlovsky, as co-analyst Shannon Sharpe referred to as in from the West Coast.
Stephen A. has spent nearly all of January on the road in California, with Qerim revealing last week he was there "for work purposes."
Orlovsky challenged Smith on Thursday's show over whether or not he had moved permanently out to Los Angeles.
Molly explained, "No, [he is there] because of the NBA. They're doing it out of there, there's all these things happening.
"He has a residence there but he truly needs to be on the market for work."
Qerim and Smith have labored collectively on First Take for almost a decade.
And the fan favourite was keen to welcome him again to his ordinary chair in the Pier 17 studios.
Molly stated, "20 degrees, nice and toasty. Is that enough for you?"
Smith joked back, "Nicely, whenever you're this scorching, the cold climate doesn't affect you a lot."
Stephen A.'s return comes after ESPN announced another bumper ratings month for the show.
First Take& completed with 611,000 average viewers in December, its second-best month ever and the 17th straight month of progress.
Throughout the entire of 2023, the present virtually doubled its viewers totals from the previous yr.
