Rapper B.G. is revealing why Lil Wayne was not present at the Cash Money Records vs. No Limit Records Verzuz battle.
Wayne was absent from the hit-for-hit competition between the two iconic hip-hop labels, during ComplexCon in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 25, prompting questions from fans.
In an interview with "The Breakfast Club" Friday, Oct. 31, B.G. said that Wayne was not feeling well and had to go to the hospital, leading the emcee to pull the plug on his appearances that night.
"Shorty wasn't feeling good, man. He had a concert at Drai's the same night, and he canceled that as well, you know," he explained.
BG attends the 4th Annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors ceremony at the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 4, 2007 in New York City.
B.G., as well as rappers Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk, are members of the hip-hop group from New Orleans, The Hot Boys. They are known for their songs "I Need A Hot Girl" and "We On Fire."
"Like I told him, we ain't spring chickens no more, man," he later added. "You've got to make sure you get your rest and make sure that your body and health are just all the way intact."
USA TODAY reached out to Lil Wayne's rep for comment.

Fans were disappointed when Wayne was not at the battle

Millennials expressed their excitement on social media when Verzuz announced its return after a yearslong hiatus. The music platform was created by industry giants Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.
At one point during the battle, Cash Money did play Wayne's chart-topping song "A Milli," with Juvenile rapping some parts of the lyrics. Fans chimed in on social media.
A viewer stated on X, "I wish Lil Wayne would've showed up to Verzuz battle. He was the energy they needed."
While on the program, B.G. explained Swizz's reaction to Wayne's absence at the battle.
"Swizz was, you know, even hurt behind it because … that's the reason Swizz pulled the trigger on it, because Wayne …agreed," B.G. said, alluding that the "Lollipop" rapper played a role in orchestrating the event.
