From the 2022 through 2024 NFL seasons, the Miami Dolphins totaled 28 wins under coach Mike McDaniel. That was more than the Los Angeles Rams or Tampa Bay Buccaneers and equal to the likes of Green Bay and Seattle over that span.
But the team enters "Thursday Night Football" in Week 9 at 2-6. Miami's yet to win consecutive games this season and will aim to end that statistic against the Baltimore Ravens at home.
They'll have to do it without one of the top receivers in the league in Tyreek Hill.
Hill, the five-time first-team All-Pro, arrived in Miami ahead of the 2022 season. He led the league in receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13) in 2023 as one of the most dangerous deep threats in the NFL.
He cooled off in 2024 and failed to hit 1,000 yards in a full season for the first time since his rookie season. But he's still one of the top wideouts and was off to a strong start despite the Dolphins' woes on offense.

What happened to Tyreek Hill?
Hill suffered a gruesome knee injury in the Dolphins' Week 4 win over the New York Jets. Hill caught a 10-yard pass during the second half and his leg was twisted up while being tackled going out of bounds.
McDaniel noted that Hill handled the injury well and seemed to be in good spirits.
"He immediately had wide eyes and was talking, 'I'm good. Just make sure the guys get this win," McDaniel said Hill told him. "You know, he was focused on the team."
Hill was later diagnosed with a dislocated left knee and multiple torn ligaments, including his ACL. He underwent successful surgery on the knee on Sept. 30.
When will Tyreek Hill return?
Hill is expected to be out for the season due to the severity of his knee injury. An ACL tear alone usually ends a player's season; other ligament tears and a dislocated knee make that an even more likely outcome.
After he underwent successful surgery, his agent Drew Rosenhaus provided a timeline for the 31-year-old wide receiver's recovery.
"Tyreek's surgery went very well," Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus said. "Fortunately everything was done with one procedure. The goal is for Tyreek to be ready for the start of next season."
You don't have to look outside of the AFC East for how a receiver over 30 could recover from a serious knee injury. Stefon Diggs tore his ACL in Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season and was practicing less than a calendar year later. Diggs leads the New England Patriots in receptions (42) and receiving yards (470) entering Week 9 in his age-32 season.
