Problems began three years ago when a tree fell at her house in Jennings, Missouri, during a storm in 2021.

It's thought that this broken a water line as since then water has continued to emerge from beneath the tree.

This then flows to the driveway and freezes up in the winter.

As Fox News affiliate KTVI visited her residence, in a bid to help Gates, she demonstrated how she has to get to and from her house by scooting on the ice whereas sitting on a scarf.

"It's like jail in my own home as a result of I can't get out the driveway," she stated.

"I'm saying 'I wanna cry' however no, I can't maintain being depressed I've gotta do something about it," she tearfully informed the information outlet.

"I can't hold dealing with this. I can't. I don't know what to do subsequent if anyone doesn't get it carried out however I can't hold dealing with it."

Gates believes that the tree belongs to the City, this has been denied by the mayor, and regardless of numerous visits to City Hall for assist, there was no response.

"I don't know what else to do," she advised the outlet adding that she reached out to see if it will make the town concentrate.

Mayor Gary Johnson visited Gates' house after being contacted by the KTVI reporter.

"They've been telling me for three years 'someone coming out,' (but) no one got here out…There were no notes that they've had this drawback."

While Johnson does not consider the tree belongs to the town, he stated that the town continues to be determining who it belongs to and the right way to assist Gates.

Johnson who was elected mayor in April 2023 informed the information reporter by way of text message: "I drastically take pleasure in helping our residents. I had no prior information of the state of affairs.

The U.S. Solar contacted Mayor Johnson and was knowledgeable that Gates is probably eligible for an Emergency Aid Grant for damages on a residential property.

This grant was established during Johnson's time as mayor.

He added that the town will "assist in figuring out the difficulty that's inflicting a water circulate on their property."
