5-year-old girl killed in tragic truck collision while in crosswalk of Arizona street

An Arizona five-year-old died after she was hit by a truck while crossing the street with her mother and five other children. Ariyah Marie Elias was struck at the intersection of East Guadalupe and South Hawes Road in Mesa on December 26. Ariyah, her mother Alora Silva, and several other neighborhood children were crossing the road, the traffic light changed from red to green. The truck driver, traveling along west Guadalupe, told police they did not see the group until it was too late.
