How Many Episodes Is 'The Last of Us' Season 2? It's Shorter Than the 1st
Sorry to report, but The Last of Us season 2 is shorter than the first. In June 2024-almost a year before its premiere-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman revealed that the HBO show's second season would only be seven episodes long. The duo told Deadline at the time that each installment would be quite big in length, but does that make up for two fewer episodes? The story material that we got from Part II of the game is way more than the story material that was in the first game, so part of what we had to do from the start was figure out how to tell that story across seasons, Mazin explained at the time.
