Amazon considering Apprentice reboot starring Don Jr as potential host, report claims

Amazonis consideringrebootingThe Apprenticeand has discussed casting one of the president’s sons as the host, according to a new report.

The Independent US

The Apprentice, which originally aired on NBC from 2004 to 2017, was once hosted byPresident Donald Trump. Now, Amazon executives have internally discussed the possibility of the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., hosting a potential reboot, according to theWall Street Journal.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos appears to have grown closer to the president in recent years — and he was spottedattending the White House state dinnerfor King Charles and Queen Camilla on Tuesday evening. Amazon also donated toTrump’s new White House ballroom project late last year.

Talks surrounding the project are still in the early stages, and Amazon executives have not yet approached the Trump family about the project,The WSJreports. If the project is green-lit, it could reportedly air on Amazon Prime Video.

An Amazon spokesperson toldThe WSJthe show is not being actively developed and executives have not selected any possible hosts.

The Independenthas contacted Amazon and the Trump Organization for comment.

While Trump was already a well-known New York businessman and real estate mogul, his role hostingThe Apprentice— and his infamous “you’re fired!” catchphrase — helped fuel his rise to fame in the 2000s.

NBCended its relationship with Trump in 2015, a decision which the network attributed to “derogatory statements” he made about immigrants. Trump went on to win the presidency a year later.

This comes after Amazonacquired theMelaniadocumentary, which followed first lady Melania Trump in the days leading up to her husband’s second inauguration. Amazon reportedly paid $40 million to distribute the film.

The documentary, which was received poorly by critics, premiered at the Kennedy Center in January after it was shown at a private White House screening.

“I am deeply humbled to have been surrounded by an inspiring room of friends, family, and cultural iconoclasts at the White House last night. Each of these individuals each brought their unique vision to the world, making a lasting impression,” the first lady said in astatementfollowing the White House screening.

“Our personal stories endure time and serve as a reminder of our mutual obligation to one another. It was an honor to present my new film, MELANIA, ahead of its global launch,” she added.

Bezos was asked last month if Amazon’s involvement in the documentary was part of an effort to gain favor with the Trump administration — a suggestion which he denied, according to the newsletterStatus.

Meghan Markle & Husband's Latest Move 'Infuriating' Prince William — Source

Prince HarryandMeghan Markle’s latest trip to Australia has reportedly stirred up the feud within the royal family, withPrince WilliamandKate Middletonseemingly frustrated by the ongoing fallout. The issue allegedly goes beyond the trip itself. Sources claim that William thinks poorly of how Harry and Markle continue to appear in public, allegedly associating the trip with “a quasi royal vibe.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s trip causing ‘frustration’ for Prince William and wife, per source

Us Weeklyexclusively reported that Prince William is not taking Meghan Markle andPrince Harry’s recent trip to Australia very well. A source told the outlet, “There is a quasi royal vibe with these trips and it’s confusing,” adding, “It seems they are trading on old connections in a way that shouldn’t be acceptable because they are no longer working members of the royal family.”

This frustration has reportedly built up over time. The source claimed, “Every single time William and Kate [Middleton] think they have turned a corner with them, something else pops up,” explaining, “Their media omnipresence is something that has created continued strain.” They also claimed that the Sussexes’ pile one controversy on top of another, and their presence in the media is a “barrier to repair the relationship.”

The source further claimed, “There hasn’t been any communication.” There is hope that “they will eventually figure it out,” but for now, “there is still distance there,” with the insider also maintaining that William has “firm boundaries” and is currently “not pushing for a reunion.”

Royal expert Marlene Koenig echoed that view to Us Weekly, noting that William keeps his feelings “close to himself and his family.” She added, “William is determined to keep much of his life private as he focuses on family and his future role as King, which are more important to him.”

Harry might have started to mend ties withKing Charles, but when it comes to William, the feud reportedly remains as it is. Moreover, his recent trip to Australia with Markle apparently did not help his case.

For all he has accomplished in Hollywood, the actor is also super strict about keeping his family life private, so much so that he has taken extended breaks in-between projects.

Day-Lewis, who celebrates his 69th birthday today, has been married to wifeRebecca Millersince 1996. The two met while he was visiting her father, famed author Arthur Miller, in 1995 and the rest was history. The couple welcomed two sons together: Ronan in 1998 and Cashel 2002. The two boysjoined their older brotherGabriel-Kane, from Daniel's previous relationship with French actress Isabelle Adjani.

Following an eight-year break from filmmaking — he actuallyannounced his retirement after 2017'sPhantom Thread—the three-time Oscar winner came back in front of the cameras to collaborate with Ronan on 2025'sAnemone.The actor toldRolling Stonehe "had some residual sadness" about walking away from acting because he knew his second born would be entering the business.

"I knew Ronan was going to go on to make films, and I was walking away from that. I thought, wouldn’t it be lovely if we could do something together and find a way of maybe containing it, so that it didn’t necessarily have to be something that required all the paraphernalia of a big production,” he told the outlet.

“It was just kind of a low-level fear, [an] anxiety about re-engaging with the business of filmmaking. The work was always something I loved. I never, ever stopped loving the work.”

Though Daniel and his family have made public appearances together over the course of his decades-long career, those moments are few and in-between. Below, see rare photos of Daniel Day-Lewis with his wife and kids.

When you're retired, "you're meant to just crawl away and die quietly," he said. But in this case, "I was at very low ebb and I thought, 'I'm doing this because I [didn't] really expect to find my way back to the appetite for this work again. And I did," he revealed.

“But luckily we were both so inside of the work, inside the story that we were trying to tell,” he continued. “Yeah, there were days on set that we looked at each other and just couldn't believe that we were actually getting to do this thing, but other than that we were just getting on with it. There wasn't time to think that way, luckily.”

NEED TO KNOW

  • Wayans emphasizes the importance of seeking medical care and using humor to cope with health challenges

  • "It doesn't hurt to know, but it can hurt not to know," he says

Damon Wayans Sr.can laugh a lot. But, when he got his type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2008, he knew it was no laughing matter.

“When I got diagnosed with diabetes, I needed triage,” Wayans shares with PEOPLE. He went to the hospital, and they had to administer care when he was there, as he was on the verge of a diabetic coma. When the actor, 65, got diagnosed with diabetes, he knew that his life had to change.

“I needed to take insulin. I had to change my diet and get into exercise because my sugar was at 535, which is not sustainable. Just knowing that then set me on a path to learning more about what I can do to control it and the things that I can't do and need to let a doctor do,” Wayans shares.

The comedian andIn Living Colorstar is partnering with Genentech and Diatribe to launch the‘All Eyes on DME’ Campaign. He hopes to reach his community and “eliminate some fears.”

“We have a lot of fears where I come from, with hospitals and doctors and taking care of your health. We tend to like to do things ourselves, so someone would go get some eyeglasses from the drugstore and have the eyes like this, and they think that that's enough, and it's not,” Wayan says, mimicking someone trying on glasses and making his eyes wide.

Store-bought eyeglasses are a temporary solution, but it’s more important to “know what's going on inside of you.”

“Especially if there's treatments that can actually help you to alleviate and keep your vision long-term,” Wayans shares.

“I found out it affects Black and brown people two to three times more for vision loss, which is terrible. It's something that is not really discussed in those communities. It's nice to be able to maybe have a voice and lend it to something that's important,” Wayans shares.

To those who might be apprehensive of getting help, he says, “there's no crime in knowing.”

“Once you know, then you can go about and try and do it your way,” Wayans shares.

One of the ways he goes about handling his diabetes is through laughter.

“I think if you can laugh, it's not that bad,” theMy Wife and Kidsactor says.

“That is the beautiful thing about this country, is that we laugh at ourselves, and once we laugh at ourselves, then we can start going, ‘maybe I should just go see a doctor.’ It doesn't hurt to know, but it can hurt not to know. It can be life-threatening,” Wayans shares.
