Ben Affleck

According to a source, Ben Affleck's friends are allegedly worried that he may be sliding back into his bad habits as he navigates a difficult period in his personal and professional life. The source states that whenever the actor is under pressure, he turns to his comfort zone of consuming caffeine and eating fast food. However, his close friends believe that his self-destructive habits have returned strongly, as they appear to have started to impact his daily life.

Ben Affleck's friends are concerned about his habits, sources suggest

A source toldOK Magazinethat Affleck's friends are allegedly worried that he might turn to his old habits amid stress related to personal and professional life. The source claims, "Whenever Ben is under pressure, he tends to fall back on comfort eating and endless caffeine, but this time it's on another level."

However, they are concerned that he may spiral back into alcohol use yet again after reportedly being sober for five years. Touching upon his consumption of fast food and caffeine, the source added, "Those close to him feel the habits have crept back in so strongly that they're starting to define his day-to-day life, which is deeply concerning."

Sharing his friends' worries around his age and smoking, the source added, "He's chain-smoking, fueling himself with coffee from morning until night, and doing almost no physical activity. At his age, it's not something you can shrug off, and people around him can see the toll it's starting to take." These source-claimed comments come in light of Ben Affleck constantly being under public scrutiny for his professional life, his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, and co-parenting his children with Jennifer Garner.

This also comes amid Affleck's recent sighting in Los Angeles, as he drove past Garner's house. He was well-dressed and appeared to be puffing a cigarette as he was seated inside his matte black BMW, as reported by theDaily Mail.

NEED TO KNOW

  • During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actress opens up about how she navigated the "big adjustment" of moving her family of four to Atlanta for the role

  • The actress also reflects on the honor of leading the show alongside industry giants, like Clifton Davis and Tamara Tunie

WhenKarla Mosleywas cast asDani DupreeinCBS'Beyond the Gates, she felt "complete joy and excitement," but also a "sinking feeling" in her chest.

The soap opera veteran tells PEOPLE that landing the role came with a mix of emotions. Mosley, who's mom to two daughtersAurora Imani, 7, andWilla Josephine, 4, with partner John Rogers, says leading a daytime drama was something she "worked so hard" to achieve. But along with "complete joy and excitement," also came the realization that she'd have to move her family of four from Los Angeles to Atlanta.

"[Nothing] against Atlanta, I just hadn't been there. It wasn't on my radar that that's where I was going to move. And I've moved so many times in my life as an actor, but never with a family," Mosley explains. "It was a big adjustment for everybody."

After spending over a year in the bustling Southern city, the doting mom says that her family has adjusted to the move. In fact, Mosley, who grew up in New York, admits that life in Atlanta has "grown" on her.

"The people are dope," she says. "We have got great community. My kids love their schools, so I'm like, 'Okay, there is a plan. God had a plan, [and] it's bigger than mine.'"

For Mosley, making the change was "worth it." She tells PEOPLE that seeing her face on the poster as one of the leads ofBeyond the GatesalongsideClifton Davis,Tamara TunieandDaphnée Duplaixis a "honor" that she will never take for granted.

"On those nights when I'm really tired and I have two scripts the next day, but I have to put my kids to bed, and I'm like, 'How am I going to get it all together?' I have to dig deep and figure out how to do it and to continue to do good work, because the thing about soap operas is it is very easy to get into a rhythm and to feel you don't have to do quite as much, but you get as much as you give," Mosley explains.

"That's a lot of material, and we only get one or two takes, so you're going to have some moments that don't quite go where you want them to go, and you have to be able to let those go," she adds. "But I want to have as few of those as possible because that's what it means to lead."

With every script she reads, Mosley says she sees herself in the pages and understands the impact of sharing authentic stories with the world. However, nothing reminds her of the importance of her role quite like meeting people who were positively impacted by what they saw onscreen.

"When I go to church or to the grocery store or I'm traveling and people come up and they reflect on their experience with the material... When they talk about their family members or their own journeys, those are the moments when I realized how important the work that we're doing is," she says.

With the soap opera in its second season, Mosley believes her character is exactly where she's supposed to be. She also teases that viewers will get to see a different side to Dani Dupree as the season progresses.

"She is kind of settling into the life that she's always wanted, what she imagined life would be like with Bill [portrayed by Timon Kyle Durrett], what she gave up her career for, she's now having all these years later," she shares. "She gets to have her career on her terms as someone who's more settled in her skin and she gets to have this love that's deep and fun and exciting, but also committed. And then she's also getting to be there for her mother."

"While Nicole [portrayed by Duplaix] is becoming a little bit more of the wild child, Dani [has] always felt like a black sheep in the family, the sort of unreliable one [and] the emotional one," she adds. "And now she gets to connect with her mother, .. and I think those moments are so special and really deeply important to her."

Drew Carey revealed that he lost 80 lbs. in 2010

People Drew Carey celebrates his 500th

NEED TO KNOW

  • The comedian and host of The Price Is Right said he was motivated to lose weight after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, along with a heart attack that took place in 2001

  • He has relied on a low-carb diet and cardio workouts to sustain his weight loss

Drew Careyhas always been open about his weight loss and health journey, which began more than a decade ago.

"I was sick of being fat on the camera. Really, I just got sick of it,"The Price Is Righthost told PEOPLE in 2010. "Once I started losing weight, again, like once I started dropping a couple pant sizes, then it was easy 'cause once you see the results, then you don't wanna stop."

Though it's been 16 years since the longtime comedian dropped 80 lbs. and went from a size 44 to a size 33, he's been able to keep it off using his tried-and-true method of diet and exercise. Carey does "lots of cardio" and keeps most of his meals carb-free.

During a March 2026 appearance onTed Danson's podcast,Where Everybody Knows Your Name, Carey said he had a heart attack in 2001 but didn't realize what it was at first.

The day after he said his "heart rate went upto something really crazy" during a jog. At first, Carey brushed his symptoms off, but when he went to the hospital the following day, he learned that he'd had a heart attack and felt motivated to work on his health.

Here's everythingThe Price Is Righthost Drew Carey has said about his health and weight loss journey.

He prioritized his health after a diabetes diagnosis

Drew Carey hosts

During his first year as host ofThe Price Is Right, Carey told PEOPLE in March 2024 he would go out to a diner after filming and order pasta, a cupcake and an iced tea "with a bunch of lemons." Then he'd go home and eat Doritos, drink "several Pepsis" and take an Ambien before heading to bed.

"It wasmiserable to live like that," he explained, adding that his doctor gave him a wakeup call when he diagnosed him with type 2 diabetes. Carey said his doctor warned him that if he didn't change his lifestyle, his life was "going to be shorter" and that he would have "bad things to look forward to."

The formerWhose Line Is It Anyway?star was also diagnosed with heart disease in 2001 and had to undergo an angioplasty, perParade. He also had a stent inserted into one of his arteries.

The warning from his doctor gave Carey the push he needed to change his lifestyle. He toldParadethat in November 2009, he had set a goal to go from 262 lbs. to 170 lbs. by the following year — and almost succeeded, losing 80 of the 92 lbs. he wanted to shed.

"I look in the mirror and I feel like I'm in my 20s again," he told the outlet in September 2010. "I feel like I have my whole life back. I could live to be 100 now."

Carey also credits his choice of exercise for helping him maintain his weight loss. The comedian told PEOPLE he does 45-minute cardio workouts several times a week. Though those workouts began on the elliptical, he took up running after he lost weight.

"I knew having a running goal or a race coming up would give me a little more motivation," Carey toldRunner's Worldin August 2011. "I actually was worried about the pounding, but I actually love running more than working out on the elliptical. Now if I get on the elliptical, I feel like I'm trapped."

In August 2010, he ran his first 10K in nearly 25 years.

He joked he's lost "1,000 lbs." over his lifetime

Drew Carey hosted the 9,000th episode of

As the host ofThe Price Is Rightcan attest, keeping the weight off year after year is no easy feat. He joked with PEOPLE that he's lost somewhere around "1,000 lbs." over his "whole life."

Though Carey has noted that weight loss left him feeling great, the best reward was the improvement in his health. In addition to shedding the lbs., the comedian reported that he had reversed his type 2 diabetes and no longer needed medication.

"I always thought I was going to die before I was 60," he toldParade."My father died of a heart attack in his 40s. I'm not an idiot. The writing was on the wall."

He said he mostly avoids carbs

Per theMayo Clinic, carbohydrates are part of a healthy diet and are needed to provide a source of energy for the body, particularly the brain.

He called his weight loss "freeing"

Drew Carey during the 10,000th episode of

Carey has been able to maintain his 80-lb. weight loss "more or less" for over a decade. For him, the real victory isn't physical, but emotional.

"It's better being like this," he explained to PEOPLE. "I love myself enough now to want that for myself and desire that for myself. It's a whole kind of change of mindset that you have to have about your whole life. ... but once you do, it's so freeing."

Timothée Chalamet calls opera and ballet 'dying' art forms in resurfaced video amid recent controversy

A recently resurfaced video from 2019 shows Timothée Chalamet calling opera and ballet "dying" art forms.

Key Points

  • The comments come in the wake of controversy Chalamet ignited after a February town hall, when he claimed that "no one cares" about either form of art anymore.

  • Chalamet has been criticized by a wide variety of entertainers and institutions for the comments, from the Metropolitan Opera to Doja Cat.

Whatever hopesTimothée Chalametmay have harbored to leave the controversy over his recent ballet and opera comments behind have just been dashed.

TheMarty Supremestar and Oscar hopeful sparked tension with a broad coalition of arts institutions and the performers that support them when he remarked during a FebruaryCNN town hallwith Matthew McConaughey that he wouldn't want to be "working in ballet or opera" because "no one cares about this anymore." If anyone was offended by those remarks, he joked, it would probably only amount to a loss of "14 cents in viewership."

The backlash around Chalamet's comments hasn't died down, and a 2019 video of the actor that recently resurfaced on TikTok is poised to turn it up even further.

The videotaken by TikTok user @thealienstookover in 2019 and reshared on Saturday shows Chalamet speaking at an event intended to promote his historical dramaThe King.

"No 'woe is me' thing, but you start working on movies, you start acting, pursuing your thing," Chalamet tells the crowd. "I started getting the sense it was maybe opera or ballet or something, it's kind of like a dying art form or something."

Then Chalamet citedCall Me By Your NameandLadybird, the two films responsible for his transformation from working actor to sought-after star, which elicited a chorus of whoops from the audience.

Entertainment Weeklyhas reached out to a representative for Chalamet for comment.

Those who work in ballet or opera have continued to react to Chalamet's initial comments.

New York City's Metropolitan Operashared a videoon March 6 highlighting the grueling work that goes into each elaborate production with the caption, "This one's for you," followed by Chalamet's official account tag.

Several cohosts ofThe Viewand the musician Doja Cat also criticized Chalamet's comments on March 9.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, and Sheryl Underwood took aim, with Hostincalling the 30-year-old actor"vapid [and] shallow," and Goldberg pointing out that both Chalamet's sister, Pauline, and mother, Nicole Flender, have dance backgrounds. "Be careful, my boy," she advised.

Doja, meanwhile, reminded her 27 million followersin a now-deleted video that "opera is 400 years old. Ballet is 500 years old." Despite her contention that "the industry is having a tough time," that "doesn't mean people don't care about it. People care."

Conan O'Brien Told Stephen Colbert What Could Happen After Talk Show Ends

Conan O'Brienis back in the late-night talk show business conversation afterStephen Colbertshared a private piece of advice. "There's a lot of fun to be had when this is over," O'Brien reportedly told him. O' Brien is referred to as "the patron saint of ex-talk show hosts" byColbert. The late-night veteran was not trying to push Colbert out. Instead, he was describing life after a talk show, from new projects to more freedom, as the format faces fresh pressure across TV.

Stephen Colbert says Conan O'Brien urging him to 'quit' talk show was actually 'kind'

According to The Hollywood Reportercover storydated March 9, 2026, Stephen Colbert recalled a conversation from "a few Emmys ago." Colbert said Conan O'Brien had been telling him "to quit for years." Then he quoted the advice directly. O'Brien told him, "I want you to know there's a lot of fun to be had when this is over, so don't feel like you need to stay." Colbert said, "It almost hurt my feelings, but he was just being kind."

Meanwhile, the context behind that exchange wasConan O'Brien's own exit from late-night in 2021. He retired from the format while it was in dramatic free fall. Since then, the former "Late Night," "The Tonight Show," and "Conan" host built a hit podcast, landed a $150 million SiriusXM deal, and fronted the Emmy-winning travel series "Conan O'Brien Must Go." That is why his take carries weight. He is not theorizing about life after a talk show. He already rebuilt one and was living it.

However, the same report showed why O'Brien's advice matters more now. The Hollywood Reporter said CBS announced in July that it was canceling "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," calling it "purely a financial decision." But netizens connected it to an earlier Colbert criticism ofPresident Donald Trump.

Then it noted wider late-night pressure, including Disney briefly pulling "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in September before restoring it. Although Conan's approach to hosting was never political, he still said, "I'm of the mind that yes, these shows are going away and will become something else." Even so, he added, "I don't like when other malign forces intervene, because they're trying to curry favor. That pisses me off."

Taylor Swift Left Hanging Over 'The Life of a Showgirl' Trademark

Taylor Swift's legal process behind the branding has reportedly hit a small obstacle. Federal records show that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has paused a trademark application linked to Swift's phrase "The Life of a Showgirl." The filing was submitted by the singer's company, TAS Rights Management LLC.

Taylor Swift facing roadblock over 'The Life of a Showgirl' trademark is temporary

The pause in Taylor Swift's federal application process does not mean the trademark request for the phrase "The Life of a Showgirl" has been denied. Instead, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) placed the application on hold while it evaluates two earlier marks that could potentially conflict with Swift's proposed title.

One of the marks prompting the delay is "Confessions of a Showgirl," a phrase registered in 2015 by Las Vegas performer Maren Wade. According toUSA Today, Wade originally filed the application in 2014. The USPTO later granted federal protection for the title in connection with entertainment services, including live performances, stage productions, television programming, and digital publications such as blogs and e-zines.

Because both Wade's trademark and Swift's proposed title use the phrase "of a showgirl," trademark examiners believe people might think the two brands are connected. This could cause confusion about whether they come from the same source.

A second factor affecting Swift's filing involves a separate trademark application for the single word "Showgirl." In December 2024, Harlem Brands Inc. applied to register "Showgirl" for a line of perfumes and related fragrance products. That application has already progressed through examination and received a Notice of Allowance.

Trademark attorney Josh Gerbenexplained in a recent blog postthat roughly one in five trademark applications encounters a similar outcome of refusal during the review process. "This type of refusal is fairly common. About 20% of all trademarks filed with the USPTO receive a similar refusal," he stated.

"The main point of this argument will be to persuade the USPTO that consumers are unlikely to think that 'Confessions of a Showgirl' and 'The Life of a Showgirl' come from the same source," Gerben further wrote. In Swift's case, the attorney noted that the two titles may communicate separate ideas. "Confessions of a Showgirl," he said, reads like "a personal narrative or tell-all account," while "The Life of a Showgirl" suggests "a broader portrayal of the experience itself."
