Jeff Bezos announces sweeping layoffs at space company Blue Origin
Jeff Bezos' space venture Blue Origin has announced sweeping layoffs - axing a whopping 1,400 jobs - or 10 percent of its workforce. In a 10-minute meeting on Thursday, CEO Dave Limp delivered the news to employees across the company's major hubs in Florida, Texas and Washington. The shock announcement comes just weeks after Blue Origin begins production on its massive New Glenn rocket. 'There's no easy way to communicate this,' CEO Dave Limp told employees in the meeting, which was scheduled the night prior and lasted about 10 minutes.
