A Rhode Island mother has slammed the Department of Education (ED) for failing the nation's children, especially her two daughters who were diagnosed with dyslexia. Jody Baldwin Stone told DailyMail.com that she struggled for years to get her daughters into special education programs, even though federal benchmark assessments indicated they were in need of 'urgent intervention.' 'I do think the level of bureaucracy in the Department of Education right now is so outrageous that you can't imagine the hoops they make families go through to receive special education,' Baldwin Stone said.
