KANYE West has spent months hot-footing around Europe and the Middle East, parading his wife through pricy hotels, restaurants, and fashion stores.

But an interior designer has suggested the rapper's apartment back home in Los Angeles lacks "quality decor" and needs to be made more "livable" for his wife.

Kanye West's (pictured left with wife Bianca on right) LA apartment has nice furniture in its rooms, but the pieces felt a bit basic, said Michele Pelafas[/caption]

Photographs of Bianca, 29, taken inside her Los Angeles apartment reveal a neutral, stone-tiled hallway.

Her extensive collection of shoes are lined up on the floor along an off-white hallway wall.

The marble-styled bathroom, where the Aussie model was snapped semi-naked, looks similarly bland.

The traditional grey furniture in her living room, where Bianca was pictured sitting, seems uninviting.

Interior designer Michele Pelafas claimed Kanye and Bianca's $20,000-a-month pad looked fairly basic.

As reported by The U.S Sun, Kanye and Bianca's WeHo apartment has two to three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

An aerial view reveals a wide-open patio, which other blocks overlook.

The color scheme they have is quite neutral," Pelafas told The U.S. Sun.

"While a neutral color palette can feel easy and comfortable, in this case, it feels a bit non-committal.

While the furniture in the rooms is very nice, the pieces feel a bit basic.

The furniture seems to lack that architectural quality that I am used to seeing in Kanye's homes.

Apartment living seems to be a step down for Kanye and most likely only temporary for the two of them.

Pelafas was surprised to see Bianca's shoes lined up on the floor along the hallway wall.

Bianca (seen here in unique fur boots) would find it important to have a place to display her shoes and boots, said an interior designer[/caption]

For someone who loves her shoes and boots like Bianca, I am surprised she has them casually lined up in a hallway, " she said.

This looks cluttered and unkempt, versus beautifully displaying and storing them in a cupboard.

It feels a bit tacky and very unexpected.

Having the shoes in the hallway would also catch guests by surprise when walking in the door.

This sends a message that's much the opposite of caring for the shoes. It's distasteful and odd.

Kanye married Bianca, his head of architecture at Yeezy, in 2022.

Bianca's creative background and love of eye-catching shoes and clothes made her a talking point.

The former jewelry designer is rarely seen wearing the same items.

She has been photographed in unique footwear, including thong boots, fur shoes, and perspex stilettos.

But it has been her husband who faced backlash more recently for posting more raunchy images of her on Instagram.

Bianca (seen here with Kanye) is in the fashion world and is especially focused on shoes but has to line hers up in her apartment hallway, said an expert[/caption]

Bianca is in the fashion world and especially focused on shoes," added Pelafas.

It is apparent that she sees shoes more like a sculpture or art.

"Right now, her shoes are lined up in a hallway.

Bianca would benefit from having a dedicated place to store and display her shoes for inspiration.

Bianca is an architectural designer and an entrepreneur, after all.

"Having a place to display them would be important to her.

With her experience and skill, she could create a fabulous home nest to suit her style.

This would probably not be unlike what Kim has at home."

Kim Kardashian (pictured) shares a glimpse of her closet in her lavish Calabasas mansion, which she renovated with Kanye[/caption]

Kim Kardashian has mentioned her ex-husband's new home.

In an episode of The Kardashians, she said he lives without security or nannies to care for their four kids.

"North will go to her Dad's; she'll be like, 'Dad's is the best. He has it all'," the Skims founder said:

"He has it all figured out. He doesn't have a nanny, he doesn't have a chef, he doesn't have security.

"He lives in an apartment, and she'll start crying, 'Why don't you have an apartment? I can't believe we don't have an apartment,'" Kim added.

Kim renovated her current main home after buying the sprawling mansion with Kanye for $20 million in 2014.

The then-couple moved in late 2017 following a massive renovation with the help of Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt.

The Hulu star has a huge walk-in closet in her Calabasas pile.

It is packed with bags, shoes, and boots in color-coordinated rows.

Kim's Calabasas mansion and Kanye's LA rental are very different, according to an expert[/caption]

Kim's Calabasas home design is minimal, " said Pelafas.

"She has a lot of softness in the furniture, warm white tones, and transparency for nature.

These grounding textures create beautiful moments.

Her home lacks personal details to evoke a sense of order and efficiency, to strengthen and purify.

Kim's Calabasas mansion and Kanye's LA rental are very different.

"But they both lack personalization for different reasons.

Today, most female celebrities spend more time at home and want their place to reflect their tastes.

"They want their home to support their overall wellbeing.

Female celebrities are definitively engaged in having a home to design.

This gives them a strong work-life balance, so I suggest Bianca do the same.

The furniture seems to lack that architectural quality of Kanye's other homes, said an expert[/caption]

Commenting further on Kanye and Bianca's decor, Pelafas said it lacked personal touch.

She claimed the couple must be in a temporary living phase.

I would call this interior style transitional," she said.

It has modern and classic details, clean lines with molding to give it a little traditional vibe.

As a designer, I am always planning and forward thinking.

I think this is universal for designers, including Bianca.

Regarding apartment living, it can feel more like a hotel and less about customization.

At the same time, there are still ways for Bianca to express her creativity and personalization.

"She could add artwork, photographs, and comfortable furniture.

She could have thoughtful details so that everything has a place and she can feel settled.

Interestingly, Kanye once expressed his goal of becoming the world's biggest real estate investor.

The rapper's property portfolio had included real estate spanning California, Wyoming, and beyond.

His small new rental is in spitting distance from his Yeezy HQ on Melrose Avenue.

It is in a busy Los Angeles neighborhood and overlooked by other buildings.

Given Kanye's other homes, Pelafas suggested this one could all be about convenience.

An interior designer told The U.S. Sun that Kanye's LA pad is not about architectural style[/caption]

Given the proximity to Kanye's office, it tells me that the choice in this rental apartment is about convenience, " she said.

"Choosing this place was not about architectural style.

I recommend more organic elements for Kanye and Bianca.

They could have a finish that is more for a restful and peaceful interior environment.

They could have put their furniture there.

It seems missing in beautiful metals, soft shapes and muted warm bronze-like wood tones.

"Kanye is paying thousands for it, and it does look like a typical high-end apartment in LA.

I recommend Bianca take some ownership and incorporate a strategy for a livable home

Michele Pelafas

"But simultaneously, it does not feel homey, almost like an events space.

"This is more about function over form and lacks personal details.

"Because of Bianca's architectural background, it would be important to incorporate some of her identity into her living space.

"I recommend that Bianca take some ownership and incorporate a strategy for a livable home.

"For Kanye and Bianca, the rental space is only temporary and lacks a homey feel, including the lack of personal details.

"At the same time, I don't think this apartment design reflects Kayne and Bianca's true style.

"Which is a lot more modern architectural and organic.
