Megan Skiendel of KATSEYE Reveals the Real Reason for the Recent String of Concert Cancellations

Dimitrios Kambouris // Getty Images It’s no secret that KATSEYE’s Wildworld Tour has been...a bit rocky, to say the least. With two of its members— Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman —taking extended breaks from performing with the global girl group, the four remaining members ( Daniela Avanzini , Lara Raj, Megan Skiendel, and Yoonchae ) kicked off the tour’s North American leg on October 13, only to end up canceling their shows in Detroit, Minneapolis, and—most recently—Chicago.

The first cancellation occurred on November 3, less than an hour before the group was set to perform at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. At the time, the group released an Instagram Story apology, saying the show was “postponed due to illness” and that “Megan is unwell and unable to perform.”

Two days later, on November 5, the official Instagram pages for Chicago’s United Center and Minneapolis’ Target Center shared statements announcing the postponements, once again citing Megan’s illness.

Not long after, the official KATSEYE Instagram account released another Story statement, this time explaining what was really going on.

“The label has made the decision to postpone our shows in Chicago and Minneapolis as Megan is recovering from a concussion,” the group wrote, adding that they would “announce the rescheduled dates as soon as possible.”

Soon after, Megan took to her own Stories to release a statement, telling fans, “I currently have a concussion and am doing everything I possibly can to recover from it so I can be on stage for you all again.”

She added that she’s been “strongly advised by medical professionals that I need to take this time to fully recover and come back safely.”

Quick reminder that this ^^^ all comes after KATSEYE was forced to pull out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival back in August after Megan sprained her ankle during tour rehearsal. Per the band, Megan was evaluated by doctors and told to stay off her ankle and allow it to properly heal ahead of the group’s upcoming tour.

All this to say: Can we all agree that these women need (and deserve) an extended break??
