Watch This One-Ton Highland Cow Bulldoze His Way to Chin Scratches

Highland cows may not be as common as dogs or cats, but they sure act like our favorite household pets. With their shaggy coats and long horns, Highland cows might look intimidating, but anyone who has spent time around one knows they’re often big softies at heart. While you’ll mostly find these curious creatures on farms, they share the same personality traits as any pet excited to see their human. Take, for example, this overly excited Highland cow, who is thrilled to see his human again and seems to forget he weighs a full ton.

Just like a dog greeting its parent home from work, this Highland cow is nothing short of excited to see his caretaker again, and not even a “small” weight difference is going to stand between them. Barreling toward his human at full force, this Highland cow has the confidence of a small lap dog, and it’s truly adorable to watch.

“He just wanted his really close up shot!”

Hanging out with a group of friends, one Highland cow decided to “calmly” head down to meet his human. While that sounds sweet, the idea of a one-ton Highland cow barreling toward you sounds a bit more frightening than adorable. For this Highland, there’s no such thing as being too excited — he ran down the hill at full speed, straight toward the camera.

Even as he came very close to the camera, this Highland cow couldn’t help but keep going at full speed. At the end of the day, he just really wanted some chin scratches. Bulldozing his way through the group, this Highland decided he was going to be first, and everyone else was just going to have to deal with it.

Thankfully, this Highland cow made it down there just in time for some chin scratches, so all was well again.

The Internet Can’t Get Enough of This Scratch-Hungry Cow

In the comments, users were equally amazed by the fast-paced Highland cow and his determination to get some scratches in.

“He just wanted his really close-up shot!” one user said.

Another person added, “I love the way he clears the field so he can be first in line for scratches. What a guy!”

“So majestic and obviously looking for that scratch. The small calf that toppled a bit and was on its haunches looked like it was thinking… no, I didn’t tumble, and did anyone see me,” a third person joked.

Nothing and nobody was going to stand in this Highland’s way of getting his chin scratches — we just hope everyone clears the path next time.
