A Hawaii surfer is lucky to be alive after being chewed up and spat out by a monster wave that was captured in dramatic video. Ty Simpson-Kane was the surfer caught on camera in the incredible moment he took on the huge wave on Peahi beach, also known as Jaws, on Maui's north shore. The world-famous beach is a hotspot for surfers and known for its super-sized waves. The video showed Simpson-Kane being thrown from his board and flipped upside down five times before he vanished beneath the water surface.
